In a surprising collaboration that breaks traditional predictions, the game developer has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Disclosed

According to the official announcement, "A strange meeting pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying changes reverberate through the shadows." The narrative introduces a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine group.

The adventure centers on "peculiar trials and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Transformations

The trailer highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer finishes with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Extra Features

Players who finish the mission will receive an special katana together with multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

• Exclusive weapons
• Survey Corps vehicle

Newest Free Story Addition

This update also brings the game's newest complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive abilities: Naoe debuts a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
